Click here for my father's testimony

Hello, my name is Jeremy Thomas; I'm 15 years old. I would like to bear my testimony of the truth of the TLC (True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days), and of the truth of the Prophet James Dee Harmston whom the Lord has sent down in these last days to lead us to meet our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our Father in heaven. I say truth because of what the scriptures define as truth is the same today, yesterday, tomorrow, and forever (D&C 93:23). And truth is light and light is Jesus Christ (D&C 84:45), so if we love truth, we love Christ. And if we love Christ, we keep his commandments (John 14:15, D&C 42:29). One of his commandments is to be baptized in his name and in his church. But there are only two churches (1 Nephi 14:10). So you are in the church of God or the devil. There is no gray; it is black and white, good and evil. For God does not turn to the right nor the left hand (D&C 3:2), and His course is one eternal round (1 Nephi 10:18-19). The gospel doesn't change from one generation to the next generation. It stays the same, or it wouldn't be true, nor be of Christ, nor be of God. So if something goes against the scriptures, it must be from the devil, for the scriptures are from God. And if anyone says that He or His gospel changes, than they are not from God, so they must be from the devil. The LDS, the Catholics, every little or big church has said that He does change, or that they do not teach the same things that early brethren or saints taught.

I would also like to testify of Christ. If it were not for him and what he has done for us, it wouldn't matter what we did (Mosiah 14:5-6). I think we should thank Christ for every little thing he has done for us. To even give us a chance to get back to our Father in Heaven, even Adam the one true God. And I think the way we can do that is by obeying what he tells us to do the first time and not be compelled in all things (D&C 58:26-29). And by obedience, we are able to see the face of God (D&C 93:1). God tells the saints to build up Zion before the great day of the coming of Jesus Christ, a goal that most people in this world have forgotten. The only way we can build Zion is by obedience to the principles of the celestial laws, if we are to ever build up the city of Zion (D&C 105:5). And those that don't have an open heart and a willing mind have no place in Zion (D&C 64:34-35). It's not an easy thing to follow God's true Prophets, if you delight in the things of the world, because we must give up everything that we have (Matthew 19:21). Most people have a hard time doing that because they think that they don't get anything in return, but we find out that is not the case (Matthew 19:29). Many are called but few are chosen because they want the things of the world (D&C 121:34-37). For the scriptures lay the way for us to meet Jesus the Christ if we're willing to: Believe and have faith in his name, repent and be baptized in the name of Christ, give all up for him, gather into one place in the land, read and study all the things from God's prophets and liken them unto ourselves, take the Holy Ghost for our guide, and ask for knowledge from heaven about these things.

Don't fight against what our Father in heaven reveals unto you about these things that you ask of him; do the things that God just tells you to do. Because if you do go against or deny any of the mysteries of God, you will get the lesser portion until you know nothing about mysteries and the devil has power over you (Alma 12:9-11). The more you get from God the more that is required of you (D&C 82:3-4). The scriptures state this so clearly that you just can't sit on the couch and expect to enter the Kingdom of God; it just doesn't happen. You must work for it.

When I came to this church with my family it was in March of 1997, and I was into Spiritual Babylon such that I didn't want to hear about some of things that they said. This was because I knew if I let it in to be true, than I would have to give up what I wanted to do and I didn't want to. Football was my weakness, it was my goal in life to become a football player. And there was nothing going to stop me, the Spirit had to tell me that I wasn't going to play football, and it started to do that for over a year before I even heard of this church. I studied football so much I knew any and every little thing about it. I made my own field goal post, my own football field, I played on it everyday, I worked out everyday. I did everything that I could to become a football player.

But it was one day about two months after we came to TLC, I was walking down the street and it just hit me that I wasn't going to play football and that was about the time that I found out all this was true. The reason why I didn't accept at first was because I did not want to leave football-it was my god. Because that is what I thought about all the time, so I made it my god. I wanted to do what I wanted to do and not what God wanted me to do.

After I started letting the spirit work on me, in August of 1997 I had a dream. I didn't think anything of it, so I had the same dream again. At that point I said to myself this might mean something. So this is how it goes. It begins at our house, it was just my family there and my mom just got off the phone. She said "There is a wedding going on and all are invited." Well I didn't want to go, neither did my brother--we thought it would be some old boring wedding. But we went anyway, and when we got there, there was a party going on before the wedding and a lot of people were there. It was outside; there were about 12 tables, and the grass was green. There was a nice, big, blue, pond about 15-20 feet northeast of the tables, and some trees in blossom about 10 feet west of the tables, and straight ahead was a dirt road, eight feet in width, and it turned to the right, right next to the pond. After a bit I looked around and party was getting smaller and smaller. Some people were going home, but most were walking along that dirt road to get to where the wedding ceremony was to be, which was to the right of where the tables were, but there was a line of tall bushes in the way. About ten feet into the path, it spilt into two different paths right down the middle of it. One keep its elevation, but the other one went down into the pond, but stayed alongside the other path. Right where the paths spilt there was a brick wall separating the paths that was no higher than the ground of the upper path. So if you went on the path that went into the pond it would get harder and harder to get back on the other path, that was right beside of it, without going back some. But you only could go so far on that path before you went into the pond, and some people went on that one not knowing where it lead.

I wasn't long before I saw that James Dee Harmston was leading everybody. And there was a little hump in the path that was really muddy. It was hard to get over for some people, but for others they walked over it like it wasn't even there. Others just fell down in the middle of the path even though there was nothing there. Some even slipped and fell right into the pond. I also saw that some after they got past that bump, went into a house that was to the left, saying something like, "I need to get a drink," or "I'll be right back." When I got to the little hump I fell down about once or so. But I got up and went on again. Then the dream ended.

Now the interpretation of it is that the party before the wedding is the gathering. My brother and I didn't want to go, well we didn't want to be here went we first got here. The path or dirt road is our testimony so that is why you have to get your our testimony and know that it is true or yours will be the path that went into the pond. The bump in the path was our connection with Babylon, and that is the reason why it was hard to get over. So that is why some people didn't fall down and some did and that some even fell down when nothing was there, because that was their test. The thing that really helped me in my testimony is that James Harmston was leading the whole thing. The wedding is the coming of Christ. Now you may interpret it however you want to, but for me that is what it meant.

I have had other blessings of the spirit. One time my family were having family prayer in the living room. All at once I could see the whole room from above. I could see my whole family, and the room was filled with angels. They were so bright, and there were so many of them I couldn't believe that they could all fit in there. I mean the room was filled with them. They were just looking down as we were having prayer. It was just so cool, I can't even find the words to describe how it felt, and it was just something that was from God. Just about every time at church or any other meeting and I really listen, I feel the spirit so hard I almost start to cry. I have never known a man as James Harmston that could teach by the spirit so much as he does. Anything that he talks about you can feel the spirit in it. Ever since I let the Holy Ghost into my life, my mind has opened so much; I have been able to learn everything so much more, so much easier, and it's just so much clearer than it has ever been before.

I again say unto you the reader, I testify to you, that James Dee Harmston is the prophet that the one true God has sent. That this is the last days, the time for the gathering of the elect of Israel, the time to repent is right now, we don't have time to spend on doing what we want to do. It's the time to do it the Lord's way and not our own. This is the Lord's work, and all of the prophecies must come to pass. The day of desolation of abomination is at our doorsteps. And all these things I leave to you in the name of our Lord, and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.
