My name is Kendal
Smith. I was born May 22, 1976 in Mesa, Arizona. I was blessed
with good parents who taught me and my brothers from as early
as I can remember to love the scriptures and to observe God's
commandments. Our family was LDS and we went about our business
very content with the mind set we had grown up with in the Mormon
church.
About the time I was 15 or 16 I realized that the call to go on a mission was going to come very soon. I needed to prepare myself, and I had not yet read the Book of Mormon on my own. Somewhat embarrassed by this and very determined to know my religion when I went on an LDS mission, I began to get up early every morning so I would have time to study. This and other events which took place shortly after began for me an eye opening experience which continues today for my family and I here in Manti, Utah.
I was fascinated with what I learned when I read the Book of
Mormon. I had heard many of the things before but personal scripture
study offered me a deeper insight, and I didn't want to stop when
I finished the book so I continued reading anything I could get
my hands on, and always remained eager to study out any interesting
information that offered a deeper insight.
Over the course of the next few years I was presented with a lot
of information which slowly lead me to the realization that the
religion taught and lived by Joseph Smith Brigham Young and the
early Saints, was not the religion that my friends, my family,
and my church were teaching and living. In fact, when held to
the light to be seen, the true history of God's church restored
through the Prophet Joseph Smith, shakes the very foundation of
the current LDS church. It is not the same religion, though it
bears the same name. This occurred slowly by removing doctrine
after doctrine, and hiding truth after truth of the Fullness of
the Gospel restored by Joseph Smith. The LDS Church has ebbed
away at its own foundation, until today it stands as a building
without foundation. Held up only by the ignorance of the members
who occupy it, not knowing the Truth, and not willing to put forth
any effort to find the truth. The LDS Church is not the same.
Joseph did receive the fullness and had a better view of the gospel
than any man. And it is a simple fact that if a person desires
to search out the mysteries (which we are commanded to do), you
must go back to the scriptures, the early records, the Journal
of Discourses, the journal entries, and revelation because that
is where the light and understanding is. You can't find the same
knowledge and understanding in the Mormon church today because
the true knowledge and spirit died out of that organization with
those who died defending it.
These are the Last Days, and God's work must go forth. Zion must be established and if it is not, there can be no refuge in the coming days of calamity, that have been prophesied of since the beginning of time by almost every Holy Prophet.
We read in D&C 105:5
"And Zion cannot be built unless it is by the principles of the Law of the Celestial Kingdom; otherwise I can not receive her unto myself.
God gave Joseph a commandment and intended that he establish Zion. He also gave Joseph the Law of the Celestial Kingdom and commanded him and the Latter Day Saints to live them. The reason he gave the laws of the Celestial Kingdom was for the purification of the Saints so that Zion could be established, and so that God would have a pure people to return to at the Last Day. For God can not tolerate sin in the least degree and if he has not a pure people to return to, the earth must be utterly wasted at his coming.
Zion is not some passing interest God had in Joseph's day. Zion was not just a nice thing to have, or a good idea that just plain didn't work out. Zion and the Laws of the Celestial Kingdom are an integral part of prophesy and the work of God in the Last Days and cannot be removed. It is the plan and work of God's true church. It is part of what the LDS Church formerly was all about . . . but not really anymore.
Well what are the Laws of the Celestial Kingdom and Zion? The laws and knowledge that the Saints once defended with their blood?
Here are some of them. Celestial Plural Marriage - or the New and Everlasting Covenant of Marriage, The Law of Consecration, and The Law of Gathering.
The Law of Celestial Plural Marriage is a sore spot for most Mormons, An embarrassing glitch in the history of the Mormon church to the ignorant. But it is a fact that the Lord commanded the church to accept Plural Marriage as a doctrine, and to live it. There is also a doctrine in the church that says:
"For I know that the Lord giveth no commandment unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them" (1 Nephi 3:7)
The commandment was given, the way prepared. But the Saints no longer live Celestial Plural Marriage. Either God changed his mind or the Saints did. This is what Apostle and counselor to Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball had to say about God and his will concerning Plural Marriage.
"Some quietly listen to those who speak against the Lords servants, against his anointed, against the plurality of wives, and against almost every principle that God has revealed. Such persons have half-a-dozen devils with them all the time. You might as well deny "Mormonism" and turn away from it, as to oppose the plurality of wives. Let the First Presidency of this church, the Twelve Apostles, and all the Authorities of this church unite and say that they will oppose that doctrine and the whole of them will be damned. What are you denying it for, it is a principle that God has revealed for the salvation of the human family. He revealed it to Joseph the Prophet in this our dispensation; and that which he revealed he designs to be carried out by his people". (Journal of Discourses, Vol.5 p.203-204. Heber C. Kimball).
The Law of Celestial Plural Marriage was not revoked by God nor any true servant of God. The facts are that the Saints buckled under the pressure put on them for living the principal. They were facing the loss of all their property at the hands of the US Government.
The Church failed the test, but if they had remained true to living and obeying gods commandments, the Lord would have been bound to protect his saints, and probably would have made "crispy critters" out of the first Government officials as they crossed the doors of the temple to take possession of it.
Can any man be brought under condemnation by God for choosing to fear his commandments over the commandments of men, and for living them in spite of persecution, loss of property, and even the possibility of the loss of your own life? NO! In fact that is just how God has tested his children since the beginning and will continue to test them the same way.
The Law of Consecration is simple. You covenant to consecrate yourself, your time, your talents, and all that you have been and will be blessed with, for the benefit of the Kingdom of God. Mormons make this covenant even today in the endowment. Presiding Bishop Edward Partridge wrote concerning consecration.
"The fact is this, a man is bound by the Law of the Church, to consecrate to the Bishop, before he can be considered a legal heir to the Kingdom of Zion; and this too without constraint; and unless he does this, he cannot be acknowledged before the Lord on the church Book. (TPJS p. 22-23)
The Law of consecration is no longer lived in the LDS church today, even while the covenant is still taken, to live the law. If a man makes a covenant and then brakes it, this is in fact breech of contract and a lie, and is not the fruit of God who gave the Law but of the Devil who seeks to destroy the Law of God. The Devil and his Kingdom must oppose the Laws that establish Zion. For Zion is in direct opposition to his Kingdom and its establishment marks the end of his power on earth, which must happen, and has been prophesied of since the beginning of time by all the Holy Prophets of God. And this is to be brought about by the remnant of Israel The faithful few who will live the Law of God in spite of all odds. The unlearned and despised who will thrash the nations of the earth by the power of his spirit. And they shall be as a stone cut without hands. And Christ's Kingdom will roll forth, and it shall smite the nations of the earth upon their feet and they shall fall and be broken together. and after it (the stone) has subdued the kingdoms and nations of the earth then shall it fill the whole earth with Christ as its King. Do you dispute that the LDS church is that stone? I testify that is could have been, but inasmuch as they have not kept God's commandments and established not Zion, they have no promise.
The Law of Gathering is this, that those who seek to establish Zion, gather to one point on the promised land and live and strive together to obey the Laws that establish Zion, outside of the influence of the Kingdom of the Devil. This doctrine is not taught anymore in the LDS church. In its place is taught: "Gather where you are, and "Be in the world but not of the world. It is impossible to be in the world and not be of the world. The world today is under the power and influence of the Devil and is the Kingdom of the Devil. If a person lives in the Kingdom of the Devil he partakes of the benefits and the consequences of that kingdom. God has it in his heart to destroy the kingdom of the Devil, with famine, with pestilence, with plague, and earthquake, with fire from heaven, and with the sword. "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (Rev 18: 4), and gather with those of like heart and mind, that the faithful saints may become the pure in heart, and that Zion may flourish.
I bear my testimony that the work of God continues in these Last Days, and that the Servant of the Lord, James D. Harmston, is a prophet of God. I know this by the witness of heaven. I know this because in my association with him I can see that the spirit of God rests upon him and that he speaks the word of God. I know this because the word which he speaks by the power of God, opens the eyes of the understanding, and unstops the ears of those who will hear wisdom, and has loosed the bands of the mind, that a people have come to a knowledge of the Truth.
Joseph Smith truly restored the fullness to the earth. And that same knowledge and spirit has been restored. That which was taught and lived by the early brethren, is established on the earth again in preparation for the coming of the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
I believe with all my heart that these are the Last Days and that the events that have been prophesied since the beginning of time are about to be unfolded before the world. Joseph and Brigham set out to build Zion for a reason. Zion must be established, and Zion can only be built up upon the Laws of the Celestial Kingdom. And what are the Laws of the Celestial Kingdom? Every one of them have been forgotten by the Latter-day Saints, even though every one of them at one time was defended by the blood of Latter Day Saints. But no more. At one time even the identity of our God was known to the saints, but they were ashamed before the world and rejected the knowledge of their God. God is unchangeable and varies not from that which he has said. Neither do true prophets of the Lord. When God's commandments are rejected by his people, and even he himself rejected, how then are they his people? For they have rejected him. There is nothing left but for the wrath and indignation of a just God to fall upon his errant sons and daughters.
What has happened to the House of Israel every time it has rejected God? Destruction. Why is there to be such a great destruction in the Last Days? Apostasy.
"For behold they have changed the ordinances and broken the everlasting covenant. (Isaiah 24:5)
I do not know how to better portray the feelings of my heart for I am weak and my words fail me. But in God there is strength. The scriptures testify of these things, and the voice of God echoes in their pages. and all that will hear the Voice of the Lord will hear this.
"Prepare yourself for the great day of the Lord: for if I who am a man, do lift up my voice and call you to repent, and ye hate me, what shall ye say when the day cometh when the thunders shall utter forth their voices from the ends of the earth, speaking to the ears of all that live, saying - Repent, and prepare for the great day of the Lord? Yea and again, when the lightnings shall streak forth from the east unto the west, and shall utter forth their voices unto all that live, and make the ears of all tingle that hear, saying these words - Repent ye for the great day of the Lord is come? And again, the Lord shall utter his voice out of heaven, saying; Hearken, O ye nations of the Earth, and hear the words of that God who made you. O ye nations of the earth, how often would I have gathered you together as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, but ye would not! How oft have I called upon you by the mouth of my servants, and by the ministering of angels, and by mine own voice, and by the voice of thunderings and by the voice of lightnings, and by the voice of tempests, and by the voice of earthquakes, and great hailstorms, and by the voice of famines and pestilences of every kind, and by the sound of a great trump, and by the voice of judgment, and by the voice of mercy all the day long, and by the voice of glory and honor and riches of eternal life, and would have saved you with an everlasting salvation, but ye would not! Behold the Day has come, when the cup of the wrath of mine indignation is full. Behold verily I say unto you that these are the words of the Lord your God". (D&C 43:21-27)
How long has it been since since you have heard the word of the Lord as described the above quote come from a prophet of God by the spirit of inspiration? The greatest knowledge to be found in this dispensation in the LDS church was had by the early members. The mysteries of Godliness are no longer had among the Mormons, and almost all they once had has been taken out from among them. Why? Doctrinal Fade Out (Apostasy).
I invite you to come and listen. Give room in your heart for a seed and see if it does not cause swelling in your breast, see if it does not cause your mind to be enlightened, see if the joy of the spirit is not manifest unto you.
This is my testimony, in Christ's name, Amen.
